The TULP/ST PAUL Food Pantry is located in the garage adjacent to the TULP office at N6135 County Road D in Tilleda. Distribution is held on the Wednesday after the 2nd Saturday from noon-1pm and again from 5-6pm. Any variations of the schedule will be announced on the pantry voice message. People must call in at least 3 days before distribution to be put on the list – 715-853-2507. They must leave their name, current phone number, and number of adults and children in the household. If it is the first time since June 2019 that they have called, they must complete an intake form and bring proof of identification and proof of residency (copy of current utility bill, etc.) the first time they come in. The service area includes Bowler, Tilleda, Gresham, and Leopolis.
The Food Pantry is funded primarily by donations. The area churches have been very supportive and have food drives and collections during the year. Many other area groups and businesses also donate food or financial support throughout the year. We are extremely grateful for the support from everyone who has donated. The bulk of the food we distribute is purchased through Feeding America. We do also receive donations from other businesses such as Reinhardt Foods in Shawano and others. We do have to supplement what we order from Feeding America and purchase food from local grocery stores when we need to. During the summer and fall we accept fresh produce from area gardeners who have an excess.
The Pantry is staffed by volunteers. They help to order food, coordinate distributions, pack up food prior to distribution, help with the distribution, and shop and pick up food orders from Feeding America and other places. During the summer months we are averaging 20-25 families, and during the winter months it increases substantially. We try to have special items available for holidays, depending on what is available. Each family is given an information sheet when they first sign up describing the qualifications. There is a financial qualification that mirrors the Emergency Food Assistance Program guidelines. The Food Pantry wishes to thank all of it’s volunteers and supporters throughout the years and hopes to continue it’s mission of feeding the hungry in our area. God has richly blessed us to be able to perform this mission. If you have any questions, please call the Food Pantry number and leave a message. 715-853-2507.
