The Doctrine of the Trinity understands that God is revealed in paradoxical ways in the Bible.  God is revealed as a singular being, but is also revealed in three separate entities (Father, Son and Holy Spirit).  Christians hold this tension of belief: that God is ONE and that God is THREE simultaneously.  We don’t claim to fully understand this tension (though there are some great books to further explore this paradox.), but we do accept that God is revealed in ways that are beyond our intellectual comprehension.
